Our Swiss
Mineral Foam

Usage may be different, but the success story is the same. Thermoelastic foam was first used in the NASA space travel program during the 1960’s, but it is also now used in the production of high-quality mattresses as its elasticity makes it perfectly suited to adapt to all body types.

One step further...

SWISSFEEL has developed the thermoelastic foam into Swiss mineral foam, a unique technology making mattresses, toppers and pillows washable without losing its breathability or ergonomic functions.

5 facts you should know about mattresses

1. Every mattress contains foam –
even spring models.

When it comes to mattresses, many people think of spring cores.
But even so-called pocket spring mattresses (TFK) consist of up to
70% foam – because nobody wants to sleep directly on metal springs. Exceptions such as latex or coconut mattresses play hardly any role in the hospitality industry. High-quality foam is therefore the actual standard – which is why SWISSFEEL consistently relies on high-quality mineral foam from Switzerland, completely without steel.

2. Foam mattresses offer
optimum comfort –
and are more practical

Good foam mattresses impress with their point elasticity, support and high breathability. The mineral foam developed by SWISSFEEL adapts perfectly to the body – for restful sleep and delighted guests. Foam mattresses are also often lighter than spring models, which makes daily housekeeping work much easier.

The market speaks for itself: in the B2C sector, foam mattresses have long been ahead of the game – with over 65% market share and often higher price points than TFK models.

3. Hygiene begins with washing –
even for mattresses

The biggest hygiene issue in hotel rooms is often the mattress. Body fluids, skin flakes and allergens accumulate here – often from over 1,000 guests per mattress

The solution: SWISSFEEL mattresses are fully washable, including the removable cover and open-pored foam core. This means they meet the current hygiene requirements of hotelstars.eu and DEHOGA (Bed Hygiene 2.0) – including their own laundry service for hotels.

Spring mattresses, on the other hand, cannot be washed and therefore cannot be thoroughly cleaned hygienically.

4. Sustainability and economic efficiency are not mutually exclusive

SWISSFEEL reduces the mattress to the essentials: cover and foam core – both washable, both durable. The SWISSFEEL-2-CYCLE dual circulation system significantly extends the mattress's service life, which makes sense both ecologically and economically:

  • Washing instead of buying new reduces costs
  • End-of-life recycling is included
  • 77% CO2 savings according to studies
  • Free return is guaranteed

No wonder SWISSFEEL is the only manufacturer recommended by name as a sustainable supplier in the ESG tool of the German Hotel Association (IHA). For TFK mattresses, on the other hand, there is no recognised recycling solution in the DACH region – usually the only option is incineration.

5. Healthy sleep –
hygienically certified

The health of guests is paramount. That is why SWISSFEEL insists on rigorous testing:

  • OEKO-TEX® certification for covers and mattress cores
  • Allergy certificate from Service Allergie Suisse – valid with regular washing
  • Proven complete removal of mites, bacteria and allergens

SWISSFEEL mattresses ensure healthy, restful sleep – with measurable added value for your guests and your hotel.

If you value hygiene, sustainability and cost-effectiveness, washable mattresses are a must.

And yes – mattresses can be washed. SWISSFEEL shows you how: with certified quality, sustainable circular economy and real-world solutions.
